DEEP SOUND by Janenne Willis

Site Specific Sound Sculpture

Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary, Flinders

Saturday 24 January, 2026, 8.30am-12.30pm

DEEP SOUND is a spatial and tonal sensory encounter with the ocean that explores more-than-human communication.

Artist Janenne Willis invites audiences to experience a site specific sound sculpture in or beside the ocean. Inspired by the musicality of ocean life and the resonance of underwater ecology, Deep Sound blends hydrophone feeds and spoken word into an original composition, amplifying the knowledge that nature communicates through meaningful sound.

Come and go as you please between 8.30am and 12.30pm for the ocean-side listening experience. The in-ocean listening experience is booked out.

Deep Sound is an outdoor weather-dependent show. We will play in most weather conditions and may alter our location and / or timing if the sea, land or sky are unsafe. Up to date details will be shared  on our website.
